Sorry to hear you weren't so happy with the case, Michael. What you received should be identical to what you see here, so I'm a bit surprised that you were so surprised. With that said, our CarboFend series is more about offering protection with the styling of carbon fiber. You may want to take a look at our CarboKev series of cases if more carbon is what you're after. That case, while more minimal and a lot less protective is made completely from advanced composite materials. I will warn you though, we use Aramid fibers (aka Kevlar) in those cases rather than carbon fibers. While it looks the same, Aramid is non-conductive whereas carbon fiber is. If we made a full carbon fiber case, it would simply block your cell signal, which is why we use a different advanced composite material in the same family. As always, we know we're not going to please everybody, so please do not hesitate to initiate a return for the case you purchased. We want you to be happy!

Unfortunately, it's one of the downsides of having the high-gloss finish, it's susceptible to scratches, just like a panel on a car would be (it's coated in the same way). Light scratches would only be visible under certain angles of light. Additionally, just like a car, you can theoretically wax and polish it to remove scratches. In the future, we may do a version in a matte finish. It wouldn't pop as much, but it's a bit more durable in terms of the light scratching.
