Symmetric: Parallel sides without symmetry
The Tensul carbon fiber money clip is an exercise in industrial design, focusing on materials and geometry. Producing an item that happens to have a bit of function. Just enough of an excuse to be part of your attire.
The combination of carbon fiber composites with aluminum invoke the passion one has for the exotic vehicles and aircraft that exemplify material technology. Curves are crafted to create one effect. That these are items comprised of parts taken directly from exotic, unobtainable machines.
The clips themselves are comprised of layers of only 4x4 twill carbon fiber fabrics. Bound with a clear and colorless epoxy resin. This composite of two materials is then compressed into shape. The finish is flat, allowing the fabric itself to interact with light in different ways.
Great designs require contrast. The included case considered part of the overall design provides an opportunity to be fulfilled by solid aluminum. The disparity in color is obvious, more subtle is the contrast between the homogeneous aluminum and woven carbon composite.
