Product looked great but the screws did not work on my Audi. Had to add spacers as the screws were too long. Could only use 2 of them. Also the black caps did not stay clicked over the screws, so I had to add some glue. In 5 years when the license plate has to be replaced, the caps will be destroyed, and this plate cover will not look good with bare screws. The actual carbon fiber plate holder looks fantastic. It's just not compatible with all makes of cars.
Thanks for your feedback Mark! First, great car, and love the RS6 tag! As far as the hardware, it's impossible for us to be able to have universal hardware that fits every single vehicle possibility, so we do a kit that fits the vast majority. If they are too long and you don't want to use the spacers, you could use a screw cutter to shorten it. As far as the caps, it sounds like you weren't using the white washers? Those get inserted on the screw (surrounding the head of the screw) and then installed onto the vehicle. From there, the caps snap onto the washers, and now the screw itself.
Perfect look for my C8 Corvette!
These mounted perfect and look great!
The appearance of the Carbon Fiber License Plate Frame is nice. The thickness of the frame border is decent and what I expected. But what is disappointing was the gloss clear coat finish. Many tiny air bubbles about the size of head of a pin. About 12 to 15 that I can count. Looks like couple specs of dirt also. I'm a Master Auto Tech and know paint finish. Air bubbles will pop and leave a tiny recess or dry as bump. This has both. Now they can be felt and can be seen depending on the lighting. It's on the car and looks ok. But it's a brand new Audi S5 and would have liked it with a cleaner appearance. This is not an Audi Carbon Plate Frame but is was also half the price. Hopefully it will hold up down here in Florida.
Thank you for your candid feedback, Ken. As you know, these are all handmade, so it's a fine balance of perfection and value that we have to commit to. We could make them all 100% perfect, but the cost would drastically go up. While we're always working on improving the finish, we try our best to make the criteria something that the vast majority would consider reasonable. I think considering your background, you may have a more critical eye (understandably). That being said, you may want to take a look at our TagArmur frame (https://carbonfibergear.com/products/tagarmur-carbon-fiber-license-plate-frame), that is a best in class finish...but as you can see, the price justifies it (over double). Either way, we always appreciate the feedback (good and bad) as it helps us know where we can make improvements and be more critical. We'll continue to progress on that end. P.S. Congrats on picking up the new S5, beautiful ride!
I made an error (completely my fault) when placing my order and didn’t realize until my order had been delivered. The service team was more than willing and beyond helpful in accommodating the adjustments I needed! Incredibly happy
This is a real carbon fiber license plate holder (not a fake with a carbon fiber looking sticker). Looks great on my car!
Met my expectations and happy with it. Only issue was screws were too long and big. So I had to get screws that fit my car.
I'm glad you liked the frame, and I'm sorry to hear the screws were too long. We try and create an as universal hardware kit as possible, but unfortunately, it's not realistic that it would fit every possible make/model.
Looks great on the back of my 2014 Viper TA
The license plate was made really well.
Looks just like it does at the site.
