2022 Rolls-Royce Black Badge with More Powerful Carbon Fiber Wheels
Rolls-Royce applied a rejuvenated version to the new Ghost, with significant power, tech, and luxury advances. With the additional power and sinister styling, the 2022 Black Badge version of the redesigned Ghost sedan is expected to provide an exceptional experience to the younger demographic.
1. Exterior Design
It is noteworthy that this new version has been hand-polished after two layers of translucent paint. The Spirit of Ecstasy emblem and Patheon Grille are coated with unique electrolytic chromes and hand-polished to add a black chrome base. With 45 kilos of paint and a three to five-hour process, Rolls-Royce promises the best and the darkest black in the automotive industry.
Moreover, Black Badge models use a unique set of 21-inch wheels with a light color coating. These wheels sport carbon-fiber barrels with up to 22 layers folded onto themselves to keep the 44-layer carbon fiber pattern still visible on the rims. The front grille has 152 LEDs projected along the bars, which are redesigned from the standard Ghost.
2. Interior Design
The new generation Ghost has an updated interior with a new digital instrument cluster, focusing on metal, wood, and leather materials. Multiple layers of wood are built at 100 degrees Celsius in one hour to strengthen the durability in certain weather situations. In addition, the wood panels are then sanded and sculpted to create a three-dimensional impression using six layers of lacquer.
The 2022 Black Badge model continues to follow dark-themed styling. Remarkably, this version features a contrast of black tones and different colored leather patches while the starlight headliner still retains. The infinity logo, representing infinite possibilities, is etched into the trim above the champagne box of the rear seats.
3. Rolls-Royce Ghost Speed
Compared to a 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost, the 2022 Black Badge engine still keeps 6.8-liter twin-turbo V-12. However, output has been updated to 592 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, which is 29 hp and 37 lb-ft of torque stronger than the standard Ghost. This edition achieves a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.
4. Rolls-Royce Ghost Price
The 2022 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost is now available for order but is expected to be set at a very high base price. This new luxury car is priced at approximately $393,500 excluding taxes, which is $43,000 higher than the standard model.
