Forged carbon fiber runs across the whole store instead of sitting in one category. It is a material page rather than a product one, which is why a ring and a license plate frame end up next to each other on it.

Why it looks different on every piece

The fibres are compressed in short random lengths instead of being woven into a grid, so the surface comes out of the mold as a marbled swirl that forms differently every time. That is a property of the process, not a marketing line.

No, and that is the trade. Photography shows one example of the pattern and yours will not match it. What stays consistent is the finish, the shape and the depth of the swirl. What does not is where the light and dark fall. Anyone who wants a predictable grid wants the woven version.

They are different, not ranked. Woven runs long continuous fibers in a grid, which is why it goes where the load runs in known directions. Forged uses short fibers pressed into a mold, which is why it can be formed into shapes a woven sheet cannot wrap around. There is a longer write-up on how forged composite is made.

They will read as the same material and they will not be twins. If you want a set that looks identical, that is the woven version's job. If you want a set that obviously came from the same place without being matched, this is it.

It is not printed on. The pattern is the arrangement of the fibers themselves, sitting under a clear coat instead of on top of a surface, so there is no printed layer for anything to rub through.
