Not worth the price

I have had this pen for over a year, and I feel like now is a good time to review. First off, the pen is very heavy with a slick barrel. I am constantly having to readjust my hand on the barrel. Second, the refill it came with has very dull ink and not smooth at all. First thing I did was buy Parker refills and change it out. It now writes good. I spend 8 hours a day filling out consents for patients and signing my name. This is not the pen for that! The sheer weight of it is fatiguing. However, if you want a pen that simply looks cool and is just for show, then this one is for you. All in all, this is a novelty item the should be about $20 cheaper because it doesn’t have a practical purpose due to the poor ink and weight.

Hefty pen

If you are looking for a light pen which you can use for hours, then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something different yet stylish, good quality at a reasonable price, love carbon fiber, then it IS the pen for you. It is mainly made of steel, hence the weight, but with a carbon fiber wrap. Great mechanical mechanism. I love it.

It's a nice weighted pen that feels very solid, comes in a nice box, writes very well. Carbon looks great and not cheap.

Amazing Option

I am going to start this by saying I purchased this pen based on my experience with the Stealth 2.0. These are very different pens from a writing perspective. The Bastion is an absolute beast and the construction quality is clear as soon as you hold it. It is significantly heavier and more robust, and the more matte finish gives it a completely different look. The writing characteristics are very similar and it is arguably more ergonomic. If you write a lot I would recommend the Stealth 2.0, but if you want to make a statement there is no better option than the Bastion Blackout. Either way, you need a pen from Carbon Fiber Gear as they have the best options available. This is an amazing product and will impress any buyer.
