My new MON CARBONE BLACKDIAMOND Carbon Fiber Carry-On Racing Green

I’ve just completed my first 2 week trip with this carry-on. So here its my initial review.
But first about my purchase experience through carbonfibergear.com which I rate 5 stars especially the online chat service where David provided first rate assistance with the ordering of the carry-on in the racing green color.
Carbonfibergear.com carries the matte and gloss back versions of this carry-on in stock but not the racing green which is the one I wanted. This one required a special order from the manufacturer. Well, David handled all the details of this special order for me without a hitch. I had the case delivered to me direct from Taiwan in less than 1 week from placing the order and just in time for my first trip with it. Outstanding service from David and carbonfibergear.com
My impressions after unpacking the black diamond carry-on: very light, first rate build all around, including the quiet-rooling wheels, no frills and beautiful case in that racing green color which surprisingly is a very subdued color (not bright). Also, the case is incredibly compact. I am a seasoned traveler and pack smart so I put it to the test in this almost two week trip and combined with a backpack……I am happy to find that the case delivered on my first trip without a hitch nor a scratch, still looking brand new. A few travelers approach me to ask about this carry-on so it got noticed.
It is a very expensive case perhaps because of the carbon fiber material which puts it up there with well regarded Aluminum carry-on luggage from Tumi and Rimowa. These aluminum cases tend to look beat-up easily with scratches and dings after each trip but go on performing for many years. My hope is that my blackdiamond carbon fiber carry-on hard case will last nearly as long while looking better than the aluminum luggage. Happy travels.
