If your phone rides in a spring clamp on the vent, you know the routine. Pry the arms open with one hand, wedge the phone in, then find the cable and plug it in before you pull out. Two steps every time you get in the car, and the cord is still hanging off the phone when you park.

Since 2007 we have specialized in carbon fiber, and we started out as car people, which is why this is the mount we picked. PITAKA faces it in woven aramid fiber, from the same family as carbon fiber and with the same look, so the thing on your dash matches the trim you paid extra for. The hook clips behind a horizontal vent slat, and a ball joint sets the angle. Plug it into a car charger rated 18W or more, and the phone snaps on with MagSafe magnets and charges at up to 15W through Qi2. Set up the NFC shortcuts once in the Shortcuts app, pick one with the switch on the face, and a tap of the phone starts directions, a playlist or a message with your ETA.

Questions people ask

Yes, if it has MagSafe: iPhone 12 and newer, or an iPhone 16e in a MagSafe case. Android phones work in a MagSafe case, including Galaxy S22 to S25, Z Fold and Flip 5 to 7, and Pixel 9 and 10. Most MagSafe cases work, though PITAKA can't vouch for every third-party case. On Galaxy S models the magnet can affect the S Pen and the compass.

It fits vents with horizontal slats, including round vents with horizontal slats inside. The hook goes behind one slat. Round vents with spokes or rings in the middle won't take it. This is PITAKA's universal vent version; the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vent needs PITAKA's separate Tesla version.

Yes. A charging cable comes in the box, but not the plug for your car's power outlet. For the full 15W, use a car charger that supports USB PD or Quick Charge at 18W or more. With a weaker charger the phone still charges, at a lower speed.

The mount has three NFC chips and a switch on the face that picks which one is live. On an iPhone you link each one to an automation once in the Shortcuts app, such as directions home, a playlist or a text with your ETA. After that, tapping the top of the phone against the mount runs it. PITAKA's PitaLink guide walks through the setup.

Yes. The phone charges on the mount while Maps or any other navigation app runs. Set one of the NFC shortcuts to start directions home, and a tap of the phone against the mount opens the route before you set the phone down, so you can pull out without touching the screen.
